Why Form and Fatherhood?

This site started because I needed a place to figure out who I am — underneath the roles, the masks, the noise.
A dad. A fighter. A builder. A man trying to move through life with some intention.

Form and Fatherhood is about both. The shape of things. And the stuff that shapes me.

Form

Form is structure. It’s technique.
It’s how you throw a kick without hurting your back.
How you load a car seat without twisting wrong.
How you show up when no one’s watching.

It’s movement, yeah — but it’s also stillness.
It’s the way I sharpen tools, how I approach training, how I try to live without wasting too much energy.

It’s not about perfection.
It’s about presence.
About doing things clean. With care. With intention.

Fatherhood

Fatherhood knocked me over.

It still does, most days.
It’s the joy and the grind. The middle-of-the-night wakeups. The quiet, sacred weight of raising tiny people who are always watching — even when I’m falling apart.

It’s a mirror and a fire.

It’s where I’ve had to unlearn some things.
And grow up in ways I didn’t know I needed to.

It’s not soft. It’s not macho.
It’s real. And it’s shaping me.

What You’ll Find Here

This isn’t some parenting tips blog.
I’m not here to give advice.

I’m here to make space.
To think out loud.
To write about what matters.

On Form and Fatherhood, you’ll find:

  • Gear I actually use — from bikes to gloves to random dad tools
  • Thoughts on discipline, movement, mindset
  • Some poetry, some reflections, some art
  • And probably a few things I’m still figuring out

If you’re trying to live with intention — as a dad, a fighter, a thinker, a maker — I hope something here resonates.

We’re all trying to shape something.
To be formed by the right things.
To pass on more than just habits.
